Sığınmacılar Manş Tüneli'nden Britanya'ya yürümek istedi

 

Fransa tarafından Manş Tüneli’ne girmeye çalışan onlarca sığınmacı görevliler ve polisle çatıştı. Demiryolu hizmetleri geçici olarak durduruldu.

Deutsche Welle’nin haberine göre Fransa’nın Calais kentinde civarında kalan ve İngiltere’ye ulaşmak isteyen sığınmacıların bir bölümü gece geç saatlerde Manş Tüneli’ne akın etti.

Fransa polisi, 120 kadar sığınmacının gizlice tünele girip fark edilmeden 15 kilometre kadar ilerlediğini kaydetti.

Manş Tüneli yetkililerinden yapılan açıklamada ise “Bu kadar büyük bir grubun İngiltere’ye ulaşmasının imkânı yoktu. Bu nedenle bu, Calais’de sıkışıp kalan sığınmacıların durumuna basının dikkatini çekmek amacıyla yapılmış organize bir saldırıydı” denildi.

Cumartesi sabah erken saatlerinde demiryolları yeniden ulaşıma açıldı ancak güvenlik kontrolleri nedeniyle trafiğin ağır ilerlediği kaydedildi.

33 yaşındaki İranlı sığınmacı Yusuf, ayakkabısı olmadığı için çoraplarından yaptığı ayakkabısıyla 10 km yürüdüğünü söyledi.
