A fighting reportedly erupted between the Turkish Armed Forces (TAF) and YPG militants deployed in Syrian territory neighbouring Turkey’s southeastern province Şanlıurfa last night (October 30).
According to a report by Russian Sputnik news agency, the fighting occurred at around 10 p.m. Turkish forces shelled the YPG fronts in Tal Abyad located across Şanlıurfa’s Akçakale Border Gate and the YPG retaliated with heavy weapons. One YPG militant died, one other was injured.
The TAF had launched artillery fires on the region of Zor Mağar in Syria’s Kobane (Ayb el Arab) on October 28.
Both incidents took place right after President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan signalling extensive operations to be launched into the east of the Euphrates in Syria.
